Look it up.
If you quit, you have to pay a "service charge" that is the same rate as dues.
If you don't pay them, you are terminated.
So...you can quit, but the only result is your wallet is still lighter, but you don't get to vote.

This is why the leadership of the union is not accountable to the membership.
