Yes, there are 3 different payscales for USAir. The Emb190 is covered under the transition agreement. I believe if a new hire get based out east they will be flying under USAir East contract. Those new hires based in the West will be flying under the old AWA contract. (Now if this is not confusing to a new hire.)

As far as where contract negiotiation are in regards to a joint contract. The west side is in negiotiations with the company, but the east is not attending and ALPA national is sending representatives for the east to negiotiations. What does this mean, probably not a proposed contract till at least summer and that might be hopeful.

The West contract be came amendable in 2006. We have the option to break off negiotiation and enter section 6 negiotiations for ourselves. The company does not want to do this for obvious reasons. The East contract is not amendable till 2009, thus they have a while.

As far as which union will represent the pilot group, who knows. USAPA has not filed with the NMB yet, thus a vote has not been forced yet. This remains a mystery for now, as much as I hate to say it.

As far as the merger goes, in the government eyes, its complete. The company operates under one certificate with two call signs for now. Not sure how long this will go on. The contracts are the last step internal for the merger. Their are a few outstanding. Some are farther along than others.

Sorry can not help you will the app portion of your question. Hopefully someone will pipe in.
