Please set aside any flames...
I'm confused on the hiring info posted on airlinepilotcentral. There are three seperate 1st year pay scales (1 AWA/1 USA and 1/EMB190). Does the $36,000 correction apply across the board for all aircraft to all off the street new hires or is it possible to be paid AWA (west) starting pay???
Also, there have been previous posts about the online application. Is there or isn't there an email confirmation.
Any Contract info as to where the two pilot groups are, which union will be used, merger finale, amendable date as one unit, etc, etc. would be most appreciated.
Anyone interview lately who could give any company feedback? Thanks.

Yes, there are 3 different payscales for USAir. The Emb190 is covered under the transition agreement. I believe if a new hire get based out east they will be flying under USAir East contract. Those new hires based in the West will be flying under the old AWA contract. (Now if this is not confusing to a new hire.)
As far as where contract negiotiation are in regards to a joint contract. The west side is in negiotiations with the company, but the east is not attending and ALPA national is sending representatives for the east to negiotiations. What does this mean, probably not a proposed contract till at least summer and that might be hopeful.
The West contract be came amendable in 2006. We have the option to break off negiotiation and enter section 6 negiotiations for ourselves. The company does not want to do this for obvious reasons. The East contract is not amendable till 2009, thus they have a while.
As far as which union will represent the pilot group, who knows. USAPA has not filed with the NMB yet, thus a vote has not been forced yet. This remains a mystery for now, as much as I hate to say it.
As far as the merger goes, in the government eyes, its complete. The company operates under one certificate with two call signs for now. Not sure how long this will go on. The contracts are the last step internal for the merger. Their are a few outstanding. Some are farther along than others.
Sorry can not help you will the app portion of your question. Hopefully someone will pipe in.

Thank you for the reply.
You shed some light on the situation. But I'm still confused on new hire pay and you may not be able to answer my question. Is it $25/hr (East) or $36,000 as a correction (perhaps these are one in the same) and does this apply to the 190 as well even though the info says $41/hr 1st year. I'm not too concerned with this issue, but would like some clarification as if this whole merger isn't confusing enough.
I would guess once the ball starts rolling, upgrade on the 190 would shorten considerably with retirements from the East and new aircraft arrivals, but one never knows.
Sounds like you're on the West. What's the retirements look like from that side, I think you guys are relatively young if not mistaken.
Thanks again.

I think, don't quote me, but first year pay on the 190 is 41 and change per hour. If you are on anything else you get a flat rate of 36k per year. I don't know what happened to the 25 an hour, but I don't think anyone will be at that rate.

E-190 Pay is $41 an hour. Not sure what the guarantee is. On the West 1st year pay is around 36,000. You can make overtime if you go over monthly guarantee, which is 77 hours for a reserve. Long call guys have been making above guarantee and I know some short call guys have been above guarantee, not sure how many.
Not sure if you get hired under the East contract, if you can make above guarantee. Some one from the East will have to answer this.
