I fully agree, my personal favorite:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT POSSIBLE, unless this is followed by:
if unable xxhours will be paid to the pilot and/or but not more than xx times/year-month-week-pilot, it really means "yeah, I might, if I feel like it, signed, crew scheduling/management."
