As well as "In the succeeding five years, Lorenzo's management changed the character of the airline, having revamped the fleet, increased utilization, cut costs and dropped many losing routes and added flights on strong segments."

Sound familiar?

In DEN on the FO side even having better than 45% seniority won’t even get you a call. The incentivized trips must be going very senior, and they don’t seem to stay in open time very long.
As an example for tomorrow there were 5 incentivized trips, two of which were red eye turns. They are all already assigned. In open time for less than 8 hours. I’m not complaining or suggesting anything. I’m just pointing out the fact they go quick. Not sure about other bases.

The main reason LOA 65 was cancelled. The senior guys pressed their reps to cancel it because they weren't getting called for VJA. Those INC trips were being picked up within seconds and CS never had to make one call. And because they cancelled LOA 65 the company decided to get us back and cancel all our vacations for August. Its gonna be a long hot summer.

It was definitely a reason but just one of many reasons. Another reason is quite a few of the LOA 65 pickups were handled completely outside of existing contract language. For example. pilots were negotiating there own credit. Some pilots that were legal were told no while others were able to pickup AFTER that pilot was denied. Yet another reason was the intent of the language was never to bypass the vja/ja process. It was creating several disputes and the problem was they were all meritless due to the "at crew scheduling discretion" language.

If the phrase “at the discretion off” is in ANY CBA or LOA it should be an immediate NO.....

at the discretion of the pilot?

I fully agree, my personal favorite:
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT POSSIBLE, unless this is followed by:
if unable xxhours will be paid to the pilot and/or but not more than xx times/year-month-week-pilot, it really means "yeah, I might, if I feel like it, signed, crew scheduling/management."
To the maximum extent possible I am supposed to receive my hotel key in the van, 5 YEARS, ONE key!!!!!!

The specific language of, "to the maximum extent possible" concerning the 4 days off between pairings was arbitrated and won by ALPA. This is why that verbiage is still used in the current NK CBA for that section at least.

I assume you mean 5 days off between pairings, as it relates to " to the maximum extent possible"?
And again, it means nothing without "but at least twice a month" or better " but not less days off than the length of the block of work days before". I think over 90% of reserve lines are built with 6 on / 4 off, and afterwards the grid is greener than the grass on the other side of the fence. How is that for "maximum extent possible"?
I am a commuting line holder who hates reserve, so doesn't affect me, but still angers me.
