Yup, I was thinking scheduled. Still works out to 12.1 hours a day. So unless said 242 hour credit got trips worth 6+ hours per day for the entire month, still not buying it when the average credit per day is around 5.3 for NB fleet.
Imagine you have a four-day, 24 credit hour trip on your schedule, SRM comes along, they buy it so you can cover a three-day, 18 credit hour trip. You're banking 42 hours for three days work; six hours of work for seven hours of pay, per day. Times two, of course. And that rolls one of your 'off days' into a 'paid day'. If things line up just right you might end up with more than 12 days at home - and getting paid for all of them.
So, its not impossible to reach that brass ring. And the guys holding weekends off, the ones who can pick up the 100% trips in the seniority window, or are at the top of the SRM list are not holding average credit lines to start with, they're working down to Aruba and deadheading back for 10+ credit a day.
