For June and July I only flew 2 trips that weren't PPU, reassignment add pay, or some sort of busted pairing with deadhead deviations on same day I could swing. If not for some circumstances last month that had me home instead of hustling, I could have legit cleared 35k+. Perhaps 40k, but I quit counting. I'm on 3rd yr pay, and no embellishments whatsoever. I have not seen it like this in my 3 years here, and I have to assume the mentality from the company is to just get through August and things will settle down. As it stands right now though, the can keeps getting kicked down the road in some categories triggering those drops with conflict. Was like this a couple years ago at Delta actually, and at first I was all googly eyed with the stories from my bros. Then after seeing this place for the first 2 years I thought they were standard pilot embellishments... Not this year though. On the one hand, I guess a squirrel should try to get as many nuts as he can when the gettins good, but I'd rather have the company hire properly and sit back with 70hrs and 18days off. For those who are willing to hump it though, a senior NB FO living within an hour of a new hire base can probably do some serious w2 damage.
I think we're on the cusp of some solid seniority list expansion. Fingers crossed for the future, but right now this growth plan is working.
