Not sure on the first interviews, the first union email I have that references SSP is November 2, 2013 and says
"SSP – Additional Information
As many of you have no doubt heard, Delta made offers of employment to a number of our most senior pilots last week pursuant to the SSP. This is very good news. We anticipate that these pilots will start class in either January or February 2014. "
I would think that means those were probably the first interviews.
The first email I have that talks about problems with the SSP is June 6, 2014 related to the EtD program launch and says in part
"Our primary concern with the SSP, however, continues to be our low interview success rate – highlighted by the rejection of a significant number of candidates whose professional records are beyond reproach."
I'm not sure the timeline actually matters, there were definitely some guys who got the job at Delta who probably shouldn't have and there were guys who didn't get the job at Delta who probably should have.
Will DGI success rates be similar to SSP success rates? Only time will tell.
