I'm really having a hard time understanding why anyone would prefer option 1.

I don’t think that people are saying it’s harder, maybe just different. They are just saying that it’s not checked as often as they use to. For me, I don’t check email using the iPad as much as I check PFC. Since the change, I find that I have more unread emails before checking them than I used to have when it was on PFC.

Obviously the gate agent had NO desire to get me on the plane. Whatever, took the next one- but was a hassle and obviously due to incompetence/lack of concern by the agent. And by the way, went up to the counter (it’s called being respectfully proactive) 3 times to check on the status of my jumpseat.

With all this being said, I never went onto a web board (before now) to complain about it. Nature of the beast...

And before anyone starts in on “its easier on the Pax side”, no, it isn’t. Was a Pax guy for 8yrs. Not easier. You can keep rolling over to “the next flight”, but so is EVERYONE else. Not easy, even with the preference of the seats cockpit seats.

Anthrax- #onthesecrybabieswithout mercy 🤣🤣

I was on the passenger side for 12 years and 10.5 of those as a commuter. And for me the process on the passenger side is way easier. From calling to list and giving all the information Fedex requires, the requirement to cancel, figuring out how to get to air ops, ramp, aircraft, etc, knowing what to do and who to ask and what to ask once you are there, knowing what to do once you get to your destination (do I need an escort? will there be transportation between the airplane and the air ops, how to get to the exit, transportation to/from the passenger terminal and air ops/ramp. As opposed for example on delta, I show up at the gate and ask to be listed for the Jumpseat, take a seat in the gate area and wait to be called by name. Worst case, you know have to list online and then check in with the gate agent and wait. And if they don’t call your name by about 20 minutes to go, ask the gate agent on the status of the Jumpseat.

And I don’t think there is anything wrong with coming here and trying to find out what happened. I certainly didn’t take it his post personal by assuming it was just a complaint. I feel bad for the guy and because of his post, I’ll try to be more aware of our more complicated Jumpseat process for offline pilots.
