I would say it depends on your background, how well you do in your interview, and how you perform on your sim. I hadn't flown an actual flight in 3.5 years prior to my interview(desk job). However, I was prior military with alot of multi engine turbine time. Plus, I flew alot of sims prior to my interviews to make sure I didn't fall flat on my face.
