They've got a couple of choices.
1) Try to reduce flying now to make the pilots happier / reduce strike risk. That's probably best short term bet. Reduces strike pressure and reduces damage from strike to on-time delivery.
2) Try to anticipate when the strike will happen. I think that's harder, the ABX strikes are surprise strikes. But they seem to try and time them to peak demand, so maybe just cancel out some of the flying during peak.
3) Try to get the ABX group on track. Hard to see this happening. miles apart in negotiations.
Should be an interesting winter. My guess is company will just try to manage down the flying far enough to keep the pilots happy.
