I don’t know what the company’s stance on it would be (though I could guess), but I’d imagine any line pilot would probably tell you it’s a bunch of hot garbage for them to give it to you, especially under those circumstances.

Why would anyone be happy to see you on a LOA building seniority, making that kind of money? There’s zero benefit to anyone but you.

You need to do what’s best for you and your family, and I wouldn’t fault you for that. But I wouldn’t ask for an LOA in this case. It’s a bit of a * move.
