I haven't spent much time on reserve, and it's been awhile.. IMO they probably wouldn't release you.. Consider that on a typical day(depending on a/c) there may only be 7-12 reserves for the entire day...and I'm sure scheduling has "numbers" they have to fulfill to make the "paperwork" look right...they place limits on how many 2 day long reserve periods you can bid for in a month.

I think most reserves figure out their own bidding technique to minimize call outs.


If you're a commuter from the mainland, you possibly could ask to be released in time for your flight home on the last day, or atleast in time for another carriers later in the day.

If you live out here, you could probably plan your last day as a day off in terms of social events etc.. that has been my experience on the widebody flying during reserve...
