They’ll hire the person they want and train to fly whatever plane their heart desires.
No easy street and mainline is going to make sure it stays that way. It’s too much of a gamble.
Ever since being downgraded to the right-hand seat, I’ve newfound respect for the interview process and what it means- to making a company a good place to work, and the product they sell.
By qualified, I meant passes United’s hurdles. I didn’t mean they just had a 170/190 type. There will be a lot of 175’s coming to United quickly if management agrees to it and over a sustained timeframe.
I also suspect there will be an Aspen carve out for the CRJ700’s with SkyWest in the United TA until Airbus can get their new aircraft qualified for Aspen.
