175s will not be operated by mainline when regionals do it for half the cost.

I see that. Looks to me that the Aspen CRJ700 program is safe until 2023 when 737’s can get in and out of there. No wonder United signed a 5 year extension on Aspen flying with SkyWest.

Republic looked into replacing the Q with 170's into Aspen and they determined a point of no return would have to be established. I believe it was only for the single engine go around, but I could be wrong on that. But they ultimately decided the risk wasn't worth the reward and gave up the destination.

Embraer even stated the E175SC would have the performance to do Aspen. But OO concluded that it didn’t for a full boat.. hence the 700’s extended contract..
