Default CAL system bid snapshot #2 7/25

Once again, here are the BESs which still have vacancies as of the snapshot posted last night. The first number shows the number of CAL pilots who wish to be staffed in that BES (i.e. those currently holding it + those bidding into it). The second number is the total positions in that BES from the system bid announcement. The difference between the two is how many open spots (i.e. vacancies) there will be for United pilots to fill if the bid closed as of the snapshot. The bid officially closes today 7/26 at 1000CT so the results of the snapshot with the actual bid may differ.

GUM 737 FO 57 out of 64 (7 vacancies remain)
IAH 737 FO 536 out of 634 (98 vacancies remain)
NYC 737 FO 264 out of 303 (39 vacancies remain)
NYC 756 FO 450 out of 486 (36 vacancies remain)

180 vacancies to be filled

Good luck to my fellow United brethren. Look forward to seeing you all back at some point, but for the initial "new hires" I wish you all the best.

How many reserves will be in IAH roughly? Are some UAL guys looking at being line holders there right off the bat (maybe even NYC)?

It's been roughly around the 85% mark that is guaranteed a line with some people junior to that getting a line sometimesin IAH on the 737. This % changes with the time of year, with the high end 83% and low end 88% getting lines. I bid 80% +-2% and I am always easily into the lines. I would say figure around the low 80% on the 737 in any base to get a line to be on the safe side. With PBS though you never know.

I would think the more senior people taking this could be getting a line sooner rather than later.

When will the final bid results post? Will they fill all openings equally or are there areas they are really short (i.e. EWR 737)?
Thanks

Takes a couple of days usually. Not sure what will get filled first.. It's a mess here on both fleets.
