The optimistic side of me says that United is wanting to do an asset purchase of the XJT side and really can’t do that until the ASA side is completely shut down. And, that is why I think January 31st was baked into TA.
We keep hearing the rumor that 10 of these Ejets are promised to RAH. What happens if XJet only gets 15?

The sad reality is they need to figure out a way to bring down the absurdly high longevity we have. Almost half of the people holding a captain slot are topped out on the payscale. Upgrades are still 7 years. I don’t see how we can have any future competing with places that have low longevity, 1 to 2 year CAs working under terrible contracts and QOL so people bail after a few years. Keeping them cost competitive. Reality... who is staying at Mesa, CommutAir or Gojet for 18 plus years. Probably not too many.

Mesa’s contract is structured so it is hard to cross between aircraft. That makes the new aircraft junior (like the Ejet) for both FO and CA.

It will be fully consumed come the end of January, won’t it? There is the scenario of the XJT side getting consumed by SkyWest like the ASA side was.

I’ve heard our CEO (your CEO) say it takes 50 aircraft minimum to make a fleet type work... So, if Inc is saying you will get 25, and they are keeping XJT then they need to figure out how to secure more... or whoever is going to buy XJT. Needs to figure out if they can get more..

No one is saying its for sure, that may have been the plan 8 months ago. Just like TSA/Compass ect.. things change all the time. But there are signals of it. The pilot TA had a “oops” provision in it. That got retracted. The fact they aren’t switching to ipads, and aligning themselves with only one major (UA). Ect... but things change faster in the regional world then we can keep up with. Yesterday’s plan is old by next week..
