I doubt United is going to cancel the 25 Ejets that are coming.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but that ain’t going to happen. There would be an absolute revolt if scope is caved on. Our (UAL) MEC is smarter than that, and knows what would happen if “relief” were given on 70/76 seat flying.

That would be awesome because Mesa,SkyWest, Republic could double dip... as UA is paying for there contract but not flying they could use those aircraft for someone else. (Except Mesa, they dont own all there E175’s UA does).. UA pilotts will not budge on scope this go around..

Should have tried to leave long ago.

Nope...that would be the best thing ever.

All the 175’s under a contract with an end date. All owning an aircraft does is get a regional a 10 year contract versus a 5 year contract.

As I understand what the United pilots are asking, they want management to allow the 175 CPA’s to just expire and bringing that flying to mainline pilots. All the existing 175’s would have to be updated anyway to put in more seats the union proposes. And, United would probably want to replace them with E2 models anyway. That means anyone who owns the 170/175’s will have to find a new major to fly their aircraft for.

So, there wouldn’t be any double dipping.

Not sure if you guys have seen the 3 part series on scope put out by the UAL MEC.

This one pretty much sums it up:

The other two videos are telling. The United MEC is not asking for United to bust their contracts with regionals —- just to wind them down. I suspect that regional pilots that are qualified to work for United and 175 qualified will have a fast path to United too.

United couldn’t care less if someone is “175 qualified” or anything of the sort.
They’ll hire the person they want and train to fly whatever plane their heart desires.

No easy street and mainline is going to make sure it stays that way. It’s too much of a gamble.

Ever since being downgraded to the right-hand seat, I’ve newfound respect for the interview process and what it means- to making a company a good place to work, and the product they sell.

By qualified, I meant passes United’s hurdles. I didn’t mean they just had a 170/190 type. There will be a lot of 175’s coming to United quickly if management agrees to it and over a sustained timeframe.

I also suspect there will be an Aspen carve out for the CRJ700’s with SkyWest in the United TA until Airbus can get their new aircraft qualified for Aspen.

Aspen has a 95 foot wingspan limitation. The A220 has a 115 foot wingspan.
