UPS System Bid 08-103
Sitting here on early hot for the last couple nights, I've taken a look at the latest Reference Seniority List (from Vacancy Bid 08-102) in relation to the upcoming 747-Classic displacement.
Realignment Vacancy Bid 08-103 should open about June 16 with about 30-35 ANC 747-400 FO vacancies. When it closes June 30, Displacement Bid 08-202 will open with about 57 747-Classic front-seat displacees (22 CPT, 30 FO, and 5 front-seat eligible FE's). After all the blood letting of primary and secondary displacements is over, up to 57 of the most junior lower-48 FO's may have a choice of either ANC or FE. This assumes all (or almost all) of the senior displacees will choose not to go to ANC. I think for every person senior to the "junior 57" who chooses to go to ANC, that reduces on a one-for-one basis the number of bottom FO's who would be forced north, or to FE.
For planning purposes, by my count, the 57 most junior lower-48 FO's (based upon the System Bid 08-102 Reference Seniority List) are located as follows:
757 SDFZ - 22
757 SDF - 5
MD11 SDF - 2
A300 SDF - 1
757 ONT - 23
757 MIA - 4
I think if one is not among the bottom FO's in the domiciles above, you are at least guaranteed to be able to stay in the lower-48. However, if you are not one of the "junior 57," you still could lose your seat and have to go to one of the above domiciles, as your seniority allows. Remember to use the Reference Seniority List from Vacancy Bid 08-102 to determine your position, as many on the current schedule bidding lists are awaiting training for positions awarded in previous system bids.
For cross-checking purposes, I have listed below the "junior 57" by their seniority numbers (from the 08-102 RefSenList). There are 166 crewmembers junior to those listed below, of which 32 are FE's and the rest are ANC FO's.

Roberto, what about the folks who still have not gotten to the new base??? As for MIA we have two people who still haven't gone to training an checked in to MIA yet. So I think you're missing people. 2 of the four JR MIA F/O's have not checked in yet.

I am using the Reference Seniority List from the last Vacancy Bid. It can be found on the Flight Operations web site with the System Bid 08-102 Award Posting. I believe the Reference Seniority List shows where everyone will reside after all have gotten to their new positions. If that doesn't look right to you, please let me know.

Good work ...
You should be sleeping ... !!!
THANKS for crunching those numbers.
Lots of valuable information that many seem unaware of ...
For example, I have gotten NUMEROUS blank stares when I tell other crewmembers that I am displaced to ONT from SDFZ on July 13. Then the stare deepens when I mention that I will be further displaced to ANC or the DC8 panel when the classic 747 fleet gets realigned ...
Do you happen to know how the date of hire of the most senior of the "junior 57" ?

I think we'll escape the panel. So much for the rockstar life in L.A. I'm gonna buy one of those cool Eskimo jackets this week...ANC here we come.

We may be in training before July 13 ... considering our seniority (or lack thereof) we will most likely receive one of the earliest training slots.

Any hope for poolies?
Any speculation about new hires after all the realignment and displacements?
I think there are about 50 in the pool, any idea if they will have to interview again or if the pool will be drained before any other new hires go swimmin'?
Thanks for any info.
