UPS System Bid 08-103

As if I wasn't depressed enough, then I read Roberto's numbers.
Out of the "Heinz 57," it now looks like I'm in the top third of junior cannonfodder on that list.
I guess I should be looking into cold weather clothing and crashpads.
Adios ONT, it was great while it lasted.

Only 2 below me in ONT ... follow my lead.

I'm guessing from some other info on this thread, I'll have about 15 days based in ONT before training for something in ANC.

Later, Brown CC

For all those in the pool I know it's very frustrating but personally I think Big Brown is making a mistake with all the reshuffling that costs them lots of money and clogs up the training department but it won't be the first time - once they realize it they'll have to start hiring before they know it.
If I were you I'd make sure you stay in touch with your sponsors, if you had any, and also periodically try to attend any job fairs UPS might be attending - even if you know they’re not hiring. It's good to make sure they remember your face and know you're still out there. Remember that the pool is not first in first out so staying 'visible' might help you to be called sooner rather than later once the hiring resumes.
This is all my speculations of course but that's what I'd have done if I were in your shoes. We all hope to be seeing y'all on property very soon.
By the way, don’t you worry – we - the junior guys - are working very hard on an affirmative action plan helping the disadvantaged senior pilots into the retirement.
Our plan obviously focuses on all crew members contemplating staying past 60 and it consists of unbiased counseling from professionals at http://www.flying-sucks.com who actually work pro bono for us!
In some circumstances we also offer monetary incentives, we call it the “here’s-your-dough-now-please-go” program. We also make sure that every crew meal has extra portions of ‘free-to-retire fries’ for the age 60 crowd. Our committee provides unlimited doughnuts to anyone approaching 60; needless to say, we also enhance our MRE’rs (meal-ready-to-eat & retire also known as GCMs - geezer crew meals) with extra sweet, southern style sodas and extra salty food. Additionally, currently we’re in the process of outsourcing some additional motivational techniques to the Jimmy Hoffa foundation.
In other words, y’all hang in there; we’re trying to get you in!
Folks, hope no one here takes any offense to this – just trying to lighten up the atmosphere for all of us who soon might be getting displaced for the sake of experience…

Poorly written by me. I'm in the ONT group of guys numbered 16-24......with me probably being the #24 guy. Any way you look at it, I fairly confident that I'll be in 747-400 school come Sept/Oct....possibly earlier. And the hits just keep on coming.....

Hey, we figured out how to fly and get typed in the 75/767 without a Capt upgrade sitting in the left seat......I'm pretty sure we can do the same in the whale. Doubtful we'll get another Andy R to buy us beers after the sim session. We got damn lucky on the instructor draw last year.

,I agree, ANC is paradise compared to SXZ.
If you ever been to Shenzie, I think the btch-complaining will be the least of your worries. My last failed airline wet-leased for China Eastern out of there and except for the hotel, the Best Western, I was disgusted to go there.
Anything is possible.
