In mid-2007, where would you be if you were hired at Southwest vs. Delta?

At Southwest, I used a SWA June 2007 hire (AirTran Oct 2004 hires), and they'd be at around 53-54% seniority and holding captain everywhere except ATL (still over 1,000 junior to the plug there).

Anyone from Delta or NWA?

A June ‘07 Delta hire would be just under 60%. They could hold the left seat of the 737 in DTW, LAX, NYC, SEA and SLC but not ATL, MSP or CVG. 700 numbers from holding ATL, 500 from MSP. CVG is a very small category so the plug is very senior.

They could hold the left seat of the 320 in ATL, MSP and NYC but not DTW or SLC.

They could hold the A220 in NYC but not SLC.

They could hold the 717 in all bases (ATL, DTW, LAX, NYC).

They couldn’t hold any widebody captain seat, but could hold the right seat of every widebody except ATL 777.

Sounds like if you got hired at your preference of the two, you are getting the career you expected.
