I don’t believe this AIP offer tabled has much to do with new hire pilot class sizes.....many have thought for a while that an IPO and/or merger is imminent.....Indigo needs to not only secure fresh labor contracts (all but pilots & FAs signed in the last 12 months), but they also need to “rope off” all the legal disputes (Alpa lawsuit, hundreds of Pilot grievances) in order to plot forward towards their big sale payoff.........which is WHY we “have hand” (in the words of George Costanza).......imho.........
I was told just the other day that some of the pressure the company is feeling is due to the leasing companies wanting predictable expenses going forward.
As these big batch of aircraft start arriving, the leasing companies want to see the financials before they provide the financing for the planes.
It might have had less to do with newhire classes and more to do with securing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of aircraft
