Read the whole thread...a few more questions
Howdy all,
Thanks to all who have posted answers already. I just submitted the resume yesterday. I still have a few questions that I haven't seen addressed. Here they are, in no particular order.
1. Per Diem? Are the hours based on 24 hrs/day for each day you are away from home, i.e.--the same as any other 121?
2. Alternate Homebase? The list of gateway airports is pretty large and I noticed that there were a handful of "smaller" airports. I live in a small town, semi-rural area. We have typically about 7 flights per day to Denver or SLC. Would that type of flight schedule lend itself to being approved as an alternate gateway (in your opinion)?
3. Helo friendly? I'm currently a CRJ Captain with a little over 4 years (just over 2000 hours) of 121, but I'm a retired Army helo guy with 6600+ hours total, and almost 3700 hours of turbine PIC. My airplane turbine PIC is only about 400 hours. Do I look competitive?
4. ATSG purchase? I know that your new contract is a huge improvement for you. Aside from the pay improvement, have there been QOL improvements as well? Has the relationship between management and the pilot group improved? How do you all see the future outlook changing, positive or negative, with the ATSG deal?
I know that is a lot of questions, I'm seriously interested and I'm looking for a company that can be my last flying job. Just trying to make the best decision for my family.
Thanks!
