Once again.....
The TA is upon US! It’s out of the NCs hands. They tried their best. Now is our turn for each of us to read the TA in its entirety and contemplate life under it for the next 5-8 years. We should all consider what other airline pilots are receiving, how our schedules will be changed, how much more money we’ll be making, what are the costs associated with using LTD, health care, dental, etc and decide if it worth it to vote yes.
Quite honestly, if every pilot does that, then I’m good. Despite yes or no voting, if there are 50.1% of us that decide it’s worth it, then fine by me. At this juncture, I don’t think it is but I realize that the masses speak.
I haven’t read NKs TA completely, but from what I’ve heard, it’s better than ours overall. That is because I’m not some workhorse type reveling over the opportunity to increase my pay rate by $1.37 by working 90+ hours. Nor am I the one who bids and receives an overnight in Vegas or Miami or even Austin and isn’t at least a little bit peaved at having my schedule changed to overnight in Philly or Des Moines or Teterboro.
If there was 1 reason and 1 reason only to vote no, it’s has to be contract duration. B9 set the bar at 4 years - I think our TA, given how substantially lower it is than most others, is bearable if we get the opportunity to increase it sooner (around the same time the other airlines are finishing up their next round).
