4 days isn't going away. It's because of what management did under Carlson reign of terror. Closing bases and making guys commute just to turn around and go back to base. People haven't forgotten. Less than 4 days off command will stay but 4 is in the contract unless waived. No worries.
Sure, the top 400 out of 2000 pilots haven't forgotten. Most of us weren't here. (This is not a knock on those guys, I have nothing but respect for what they did and never hesitate to tell them so.)
Wasn't that part of managements' strategy with this contract? Wait until there's a big enough percentage of "This is the most money I've ever seen!" guys who will out-vote those who "haven't forgotten?"
As for me, a long drive commuter, I'd love more than anything to not waive my (5)4 days, but if I have to do so to avoid Reserve, or hotel rooms, then I guess I will. It remains to be seen personally.
