The issue of not building a max credit is a flaw that causes unstacking. The Union claimed we would not be subject to unstacking. When I used PBS before it was coded "high time" 90hrs. I bid 68 to 72 min every month. The question is the command "set min" and "set max"? What are the values and will this trip unstacking to crate some degree of balance that has nothing to do with seniority. Why do we not have a manual that defines all values and commands??
Well.....
Reserves are paid regardless, but hardlines don't have a set guarantee anymore. If there is 7,000 hours of flying to be covered, there are 100 pilots in a position, and the company keeps 10% of pilots on reserve. All pilots make $200/hr. Hardlines would be build to 78 hours average. Or the company could build lines to 72 hours, and make the already paid reserve pilots work 60 hours plus all the unanticipated flying. If that works without having to hand out JAs, because of lack of reserves, the company would save $108,000.
