6-8 months is pretty ambitious depending on the number of hours/ quals that you have from your previous flying life. Most majors look for 100-200hrs for currency/recency in the last 12 months. If training takes 3-4 months, that’s a lot of flying especially if you’ll be on reserve. 12-18 months may be more reasonable.
