One post 4,000 views and counting. Wonder how many UAL pilots researched the issue now, and how many pilots are reading Flying the Line? I bet more than one which is what you get mentoring on the line.

I believe in "planting seeds". You may think my methods are crazy, but there is a purpose, and I think it worked. Also, try reading the comments on the UAL forum.

If asking questions and learning about the past is cause for discipline then we are in big trouble. Obviously a large number of current employees know nothing about how the company can react, and MAYBE asking a question online will educate them about an important topic.

Your disagreement with Mako doesn't surprise me. He's a pilots pilot and an all around outstanding person.

So go ahead with your edumacational campaign Sunvox. It's trivial but I'm sure mahogany row agrees with you.
Not sure what "mahogany row" implies. Can u explain.

To answer your question, there is no history of ALPA illegal sickouts at UAL. I'm sure that will be the case in the future as well. Our pilot group and MEC are smarter than that.

To suggest otherwise, especially when we are headed into what from all appearances will be a period of contentious Section 6 negotiations, is counterproductive.

And then to doxx yourself? Enjoy being on the receiving end of the company's social media policy or worse.

Please keep your crackpot theories to yourself. Or if you can't, at least limit them to your "can't fail" stock tips.
Again, I think the anonymity of the internet is it's biggest foible (if the internet can be said to have such) so I simply disagree besides which I have posted my name on here many times before so there was no anonymity to start. In addition, I asked a question with the intent of getting others to investigate the issue. I'm not advocating in favor of such behavior. In fact, you could consider my post and this thread as a cautionary tale of what lengths a corporation will take during negotiations.

All in all I think the virulent response I get is proof of the effectiveness of the media and the subject, but I recognize that many simply see me as crazy.

Bottom line: We have a company that is almost half new hires and a quarter ex-CAL, all of whom did not and do not have the benefit of the UAL-ALPA strong union mentorship that I received and which I believe is important to have. Perhaps by asking difficult questions and pointing at tough topics, the new UAL pilots will take the time to read and/or ask questions and the fact is that today the internet affords folks a far greater reach than ever before . . . sometimes for the better . . . sometimes for the worse. Hopefully, this thread has gotten some folks to ask questions and pay attention. I think it has.
