My meet and greet was the beginning of the month so he wanted to meet with other applicants before he decided which two got the “silver bullet” (Letter directly to hiring). He never wrote an AirlineApps rec, but almost a year later I got the email that he submitted a rec to the hiring dept. I got an invite about 9 months later (6-7 of those months they weren’t hiring, so I guess you can consider that 3 months after submission to invite?) The big letter is not a guaranteed invite though, just applies a certain number of points to your app, usually enough to move you to the short stack if you’re close.
Ok so the Airline Apps recommendation is completely different than the recommendation that gets sent directly to the hiring department? My Airline Apps recommendation was submitted fairly quick after the meet & greet, but no mention of an additional recommendation. Maybe this is something that doesn't happen that quick or maybe not at all in my case... just trying to speculate what might happen next.
