Not so fast, The problem is that most all domestic Hub-turns still pay by MPDP-E and not by Trip rig.
So most Hub turns still pay 6 vice 6.4. (only they have been optimized to work 5 plus block hours or more.)
There in lies the mistake. We should have (but didn't) tied MPDP's to blend with the change of RIG, i.e. MPDP-E should now pay 3.2. so a domestic hubturn would now pay 6.4 hours. So a Week of MEM-DSM hub turns would pay the same as a week of IND-DSM hub turns. But now it doesn't and we gave the Company financial incentive to break up Week long city pure domestic trips out of IND, OAK EWR and AFW...............i.e. THE DOMESTIC SOLVE. We further agreeded that a day of work in many cases no longer equals a sick or vacation day. A bad precident for next round of negotiations. What will a sick or Vacation day be worth next time?
We should have increased a Sick day/ Vacation Day to Match 1 day of work just a we should have with MPDP's.
As for many international trips, yes they now pay a little more, but have you noticed that you are flying more Block hours per trip?
Remember the FCH :
Trip rig was 1.345 and MPDP was 3.5 so a day of work was 7 and so was a Sick day or Vacation Day.
Contract 1 : Trip rig went to 4.0 and MPDP's went to 3Hr and our Sick and Vacation value followed. Many said that was a give back but atleast things were harmonized.
Factor in the increased High/Low Line construction split to 13 hours (up from 8:30). Another very BIG mistake.
