Almost everyone gets the fuel bonus, but that metric is largely out of your hands. Get a bunch of short trips for a month and you’ll do poorly. And vice versa.
The fuel bonus is based on maximum time aloft versus minimum fuel burned. So you do yourself no favors by finding ways to get there quicker AND saving gas versus the flight plan. Get there slow, and do it efficiently with the fuel. Even if you burn more of it than getting there quickly.
For example, it is typically very effiecient to fly hour or less trips in the Lear in the low 30’s. Your true airspeed is much higher, and you save a lot of time spent at climb power settings. But by the metric it’s better to go up high and slow even if you burn more gas than the other way.
