It may be common but it means something is wrong in the fuel tank vent system. The wing fuel gets heated and expands and forces its way past the fuel cap if the vent system has a clog. If you have a brand new cap that seals well the pressure has to go somewhere and might rupture a fuel line component. If a mechanic says it’s common don’t worry about it ask him to put it on MEL. He can’t and won’t.
Nope. It is a known emb issue and it is not the cap. Emb engineers stated that the baffles and float needed to be replaced on the next checks and the leak was far enough out that it would not cause an issue with the engines.

I will add that it looks like a large amount of fuel, but it’s not enough to notice on the gauges.
