Other than allegiant, all airlines have early AM departures from all outstations, to get connecting pax to the hubs. The plane and crews have to be already in position, so crew overnights are irrevocably baked into the hub-and-spoke business model.
That is a key driver of pilot schedule construction, and will take a back seat to efficiency if it comes down to it.
The regionals even more so, since the that first early AM flight is more likely to be an RJ. Mainline will get the same deal, but it might be at 0800 instead of 0500.
