Its all about what you want, where I live I was commuting to a crash pad so not doing that is worth $20K in worry free commuting, I think you will always do better $ at a major but you deal with other issues that you don't deal with here. NJA has done a 180 in attitude from what I can see since November. I am still convinced and agree with some union guys that pay is going to have to go up as they are not able to keep people and cannot fill new hire classes. New contract though has driven productivity way up, but with 100+ airplanes coming in next 18-30 months I think they got some issues.
I wasn’t making an airline comparison, I just think the soft money projections sound a bit high, even for the psychos that do CC76LT.
As far as pay going up and contract stuff, the pay and QOL, work rules, all that stuff etc. the company doesn’t have to do anything when the current pilot group votes yes to whatever is put on their plate. The company fixed productivity so they can add airplanes and not worry about attrition. If the company wanted to fix pay and attrition, they would have. They merely wanted to fix fatigue calls, and they did.
The important thing is that you are happy with it. If it works for you, and you’re happy, that’s all that matters.
