Our leadership structure is so screwed up. Departments internally fighting each other. Until flight ops wins that war and is given the power to run an airline, instead of a marketing company, nothing will change.

I agree with this. I think Flight Ops (JS) and even PH is aware and reporting the effects of Planning’s deficiencies in its optimization of the pairings. It is costing millions more than the savings achieved. And it has caused a massive negative effect in the pilot groups quality of life.
