They knew that and put that out before the bid. The displaced pilots now would not have held it then so I don’t see any difference. The DTW base has been both DHing and flying outside in trips through NY for a long time. I picked several of the trips up last summer. I don’t understand crew resources hate for NY. The base should be twice the size it is based on both current and planned departures. That flying has to come from somewhere.
It's not so much hate for NYC as staffing for the winter months and not the summer months. If we staffed for our summer schedule, half the NYC pilots would be on reserve come fall.
