A friend on the hiring board told me they try to put the guys with ATP mins in the Saab and the low timers in the jets. The key word is "try". Not every Saab FO has the ATP mins, and not every jet FO doesn't. I seriously doubt that they would actually hold you back just to give you a Saab spot. You never can be sure with things like this though.
On a side note, I believe there were a few Saab FO spots in the next class anyways, so you wouldn't even need to be held back to get one, but I haven't been paying close attention to it.
