Mesaba new hires
#6741
I interviewed with "Colgan" back in December... was not offered the job along with another 32 out of 35 that interviewed that day(s).. they told me I could reapply in 90 days, I said "that's Ok, I already have another offer," then Chucky calls me a week later and wants me to come back because "I was one of the best applicants that day and I deserve another shot," I tell him "no thanks, that's Ok, I have another offer," so he says "Ok, good luck with your career." While in training I get a phone call from "Mesaba, doing business as Colgan Air" to come in for an interview. They left a message, I never called back. I guess third time's the charm. That was a month ago and I haven't heard anything since. Not sure what's going on with the hiring department there, but it doesn't seem like communication is their strong point.

Mesaba's HR department is very good at picking out the good from the bad. Comparing Colgan and Mesaba's HR is like comparing oranges and apples (nothing bad toward Colgan). Right now they are looking to hire 50 pilots on the Mesaba (Colgan) side and Mesaba's HR took over all of the hiring. Getting a call from Mesaba isn't such a bad thing.

Then strictly speaking, this thread needs to go into hibernation. There are still 150 furloughs at Mesaba. All "Mesaba" hiring for now is really hiring for Colgan operations. Eventually they will all be the same thing but that is still many months out.
