Contacted my local FSDO and got an email back saying it "appears I should be eligible" but it would depend on what the school would take as transfer. Contacted the school and they basically said the training (ground and flight both) had to be completed with them to be considered. IE, students who earn a degree with the school but came on board with their certificates and ratings already, were not eligible to apply under 61.160. Sounds like you may have got a similar response from your school. Planning on getting my CFI ticket to make up the time delta but would be interested to hear if others were getting a different story.
Why wouldn't you fly 135 for a few months instead of going through all this crap to get an R-ATP? Then fly for a Regional and work on an online Bachelors degree! This R-ATP business is over-inflated hype from Colleges that want your money/business! Com'n folks, if you want to be a pilot than fly airplanes and stop worrying about shortcuts and back-doors! Your flight time and more importantly, experience will come fast and you will "be golden"!
