That’s a tough decision. A few months ago I’d say Republic hands down. PSA has recently closed the gap. If you don’t want to move then I’d go with PSA. If you’re willing to move I’d say Republic is still the better option.

Don’t worry about that 7,500. After taxes that’s 4,000-4,500. Most likely the regional environment will be vastly different 1.5 years from now, but even if things stay the same... in your first year you will easily make up that $7,500 difference at Republic. There’s more to your salary than just hourly rates. 2nd year you will easily make 10k-20k more at Republic. Once you upgrade you can double that... at a minimum.

I’d be cautious about going to a non wholly owned going forward, but I’d say Republic has the most promising future of all the non wholly owned contract carriers.

If you don’t want to move and/or don’t have a degree... come to PSA.
