Is it time for ALPA and other unions to officially endorse tips? I floated the tip balloon may years ago in negotiations and was shot down by ALPA national. They have no veto power of course but were influential on our MEC.

I believe the airline industry is a service industry and should encourage tipping. FA should definitely be allowed to accept tips. I think the image of a pilot with his hat held out would shame the company to think twice about more pay cuts.

Just an idea that’s time may have come.
