I was hired during the era of the "you need us more than we need you" attitudes from mgmt so my gut reaction is not to call and just smile and say thank you to whatever equipment you're assigned. But the tables have turned since then and maybe it is acceptable to make requests. Some of the newer guys on here might be able to give you a better answer.

Sorry, I meant to call and find out about letting them know about the availability. I don't care what airplane i get. I have my preferences about bases because of commute, but those can be handled within few months of being hired by the bidding process.
