Examples within the last 20 years, with some occurring more than once:
Economic recession
Market crash
Oil price increase
Terrorist attacks
Merger
Health concerns (example: swine flu)
I'm not saying any of these will happen in the near term, but the last 75 years of airline history is one big example of constant changes to "plans."
If, for instance, Iran would shoot down a US drone in international water, attack shipping lanes, and oil prices spike...that could lead to plans changing
