Cadets will stay for the flow because a 22 year old cadet is fine with an 8 year flow to AA. That would mean starting at AA by the time their 30 and having a 35 year career at a legacy carrier. Doesn’t sound too bad to the average kid out of college.
Given that
there is strong evidence that human brains aren't full developed until about 25 years old, you can't really blame cadets for being illogical. Those naive 'I won a participation trophy' 22-year-old cadets fail to see that in 8+ years, they'll be first to be furloughed from AA when the economy turns.
