True, but for a person just starting out I think the minimums will change by the time they’re ready for Indoc at Envoy.

Don’t think so. This was a recent Frontier meet and greet the chief pilots criteria:

Sure... Current Regional CPT. With
6000TT/ 3000 of that is Rotor.
3000PIC/ 1500PIC is Rotor
1500 Total part 121
500 part 121 PIC
B.S degree, Working on a Masters, Military UH-60, flew part 91 and 135 Rotor and Fixed Wing. I applied in April for the 4th time. Interview was in May.

JetBlue has fairly low competitive numbers too.

Don’t forget SWA and Alaska in your LCC comparison!

*I know Alaska is techincally a legacy*

Can’t speak for the other two carriers but military and 121 command time were the norm in my class at JetBlue. I think the guy above might have been in my class and His 5300TT, most of which I think was SIC at the regionals, Certainly isn’t “low time” and if it’s the person I’m thinking of, he had a lot of good things going for him that those of us with +1000TPIC didn’t have.

I’m not saying it’s as hard to get hired at JetBlue as Delta by any means, it’s not. But to me that’s like saying “it isn’t that hard to get hired at Delta because they took 6 or 7 of my FO’s with only 2200TT and zero TPIC when I was at CPZ in late 2017 when Delta was on a hiring binge and before they started cancelling classes last summer.” Or the fact that United also takes high time regional FO’s with zero TPIC.

I think the truth is all of the major pax carriers hire from all backgrounds and experience levels. I don’t think 2500TT and zero TPIC is the norm at JB just like I don’t think 2200TT and zero TPIC is the norm at Delta or United but it happens.

I know, I know JB decides to hire folks with 2500 because “they have no other options and that’s all they can get” and Delta hires low time FO’s with 2200TT and zero TPIC because “they want those folks to feel like they hit the careeer lottery” whatever that is...

You can't seriously take two examples and make a judgment on how competitive things are. Even though the times of the two candidates aren't low time at all . There are going to be outliers everywhere, even at the legacies . My class at B6 had 30 people and outside of military, there was about 4 regional FOs without any TPIC . The average time for my class was around 4-5000TT and TPIC experience and with degrees .

Once Again , not saying you can't get hired below the average competitive mins, but I would say... since Frontier, Spirit, and JetBlue got new contracts they have gotten alot more competitive. I wouldn't bank on getting hired at paper hiring minimums at any major; LCC or Legacy

Btw, the hiring window at JB is open until the end of the month , get your apps in, if you're interested
