Good for them!
I'm happy for them, too. I also find it hilarious that AA came up with a great pipeline concept and yet squandered the opportunity to retain experienced aviators because they wouldn't make pay competitive.

I'd be really interested to see stats on the retention of RTP candidates. They'll never publicly release that information though...

Exactly. Most RTPs do have undergrad or graduate degrees in some cases. Even though degrees were never required, Army warrant officer recruiting has been extremely competitive in the past and degrees were a big discriminator. For those that didn't have degrees in getting accepted, promotion boards put strong emphasis on bachelors and masters degrees. I think the regionals with RTPs have underestimated the longevity they'd have picking up mil rotorheads.

Cadets will stay for the flow because a 22 year old cadet is fine with an 8 year flow to AA. That would mean starting at AA by the time their 30 and having a 35 year career at a legacy carrier. Doesn’t sound too bad to the average kid out of college.

Given that there is strong evidence that human brains aren't full developed until about 25 years old, you can't really blame cadets for being illogical. Those naive 'I won a participation trophy' 22-year-old cadets fail to see that in 8+ years, they'll be first to be furloughed from AA when the economy turns.

Problem is, those 22 year old cadets will only be 24 and still have less than fully functional brains when Envoy moves them to the left seat in less than two years.

Lol, hopefully these last few posts are purely tongue-in-cheek.

Might be a little tongue in cheek, but still very much a concern.

With morale at an all time low, pay BS, crappy schedules (EMJ), I have seriously considered leaving ENY for...NetJets, FlexJet, XOJet, etc. They all have me intrigued.

A few of them are home based which is an enormous selling point.
