Comair seeks D.C. link
2007-12-21 06:26:00
Comair, a Delta Connection carrier, is applying for an available slot at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport through the Department of Transportation. The nonstop flight would be the only link from Washington D.C. to Northwest Florida.
“These slots are very limited by Homeland Security, especially since 9-11; however, we feel that Okaloosa County’s three military installations with 60,000 active duty, civil service and dependants, makes us an ideal candidate for this slot,” stated Airport Director Jerry Sealy, A.A.E., in a recent news release.
Okaloosa Regional Airport is seeking letters of support at the local and state level to include in the Comair application.
Comair’s 50-seat CRJ-200 aircraft would service the flights, providing a critical service and future growth to the area.
