I think you answered your own question... If you really don’t like LAX for whatever reason, then go somewhere else.
If you like sunshine, great weather, great beaches, great food, being in the culture capital of the world, and having so much to do that you’ll never get a chance to do it all, then I would recommend LA. If you prefer a small town with nothing to do, there are plenty of places for that.
I was born and raised in Texas. Been in SoCal the last 7 years and I will never leave!
