I agree with everyone, get some experience as a professional pilot during whatever you can get your hands on... you get to build time, experience, stories, friends, actual hours, actual flying and some money. Especially now in today's market... I was making more than double of what the regionals paid just by instructing. I instructed for 3 years and did about 3 months of traffic watch for a local san francisco radio station.
