Though nothing I see in the CBA says you have to be contactable by phone starting at the RAP...theoretically jetcrw via WiFi on a plane could satisfy contactability requirements. But I also probably wouldn’t plan on arrive into LGA 1.5hr prior to a show time at JFK as a primary commute flight. If your flight got delayed into that situation, or you didn’t make the commute on the first attempt, I doubt it’d be a big deal every once in a while. But as a primary means, if it resulted in several occurrences of not being contactable or being late, it might end up with a CP offering some commuting advice in his office.
Yes the WiFi is a possibility as long as it’s Jetblue or you’re paying for it on another carrier. I’ve seen jumpseaters get creative. Trying to check-in for a trip on the JFund-4R since it almost overflies the airport.
